277 Million Islamists Are Absolutely Willing To Kill You For Their Religion

This chart came from a survey performed this past June.  Have a look:

Lets have a closer look at what those numbers really mean:

Average % of Muslims that think targeting civilians is acceptable (sum of "Often/Sometimes" column and "Rarely" column [hard {bold} numbers only] divided by 10 [countries polled]=

35.2%

Number of Muslims planet-wide (provided by wiki) = 1,400,000,000

Number of Muslims planet-wide that think it's OK to go jihad on your civilian ass, to defend their religion, in some or all circumstances:

1,400,000,000 x 0.352 = 492,800,000

Wanna narrow it down some?  Let's look strictly at the "Often/Sometimes" column:

Total of hard (bold) numbers = 198

divide by 10 = 19.8% average

multiply by 1.4 billion = 277,200,000

That's 277 million Islamists running around out there who think it's absolutely OK to go jihad on your civilian ass in order to defend Islam.  Think about that for a minute.  If you need some perspective for that number, it's almost equivalent to the entire population of the United States.

In order to be fair, we should define "defend Islam".  Here's how Dictionary.com defines defend:

de‧fend  /dɪˈfɛnd/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[di-fend] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–verb (used with object)
1.    to ward off attack from; guard against assault or injury (usually fol. by from or against): The sentry defended the gate against sudden attack.
2.    to maintain by argument, evidence, etc.; uphold: She defended her claim successfully.
3.    to contest (a legal charge, claim, etc.).
4.    Law. to serve as attorney for (a defendant): He has defended some of the most notorious criminals.
5.    to support (an argument, theory, etc.) in the face of criticism; prove the validity of (a dissertation, thesis, or the like) by answering arguments and questions put by a committee of specialists.
6.    to attempt to retain (a championship title, position, etc.), as in a competition against a challenger.
–verb (used without object)
7.    Law. to enter or make a defense.

And here's what Islam considers an attack, assault or injury:

These people have more beefs than the perpetually peeved Palidea (Let Freedom Reign's MoonBat of the Week for the last gajillion months).  Speaking of our MoonBatty friend, she takes a different view of the numbers above.  She completely ignores the negative and instead comments that 64.8% of Muslims absolutely don't want to kill us.  If you get a chance, ask Palidea if her mother is Muslim and it'll help you put her apologist arguments into context.

A Plea To Our American Friends:

I live in Canada and here's a quick look into our little socialist republik:

  • We have no property rights.  None.  If the government wants what I've got, they can take it without compensation.
  • We have unfettered abortion.  There are no rules.
  • We are not allowed to bear arms.
  • We are the second highest taxed population in the free world.  We don't see tax freedom day until early June every year.
  • We rely on others for our national defense.  Liberal governments have stripped our military to the point that our soldiers have to hitch rides on US transports.
  • Our government actively participates in the breaking-down of the family.
  • Our schools are places of lib-left indoctrination instead of education and critical thought.
  • Our Supreme Court is stacked with activist judges from the lib-left.  They're writing laws from the bench which completely bypasses our elected representatives.
  • Unions dictate our country's financial policy.
  • We're friendly with Cuba.
  • It's legal for a 35 year old man to have sex with a 14 year-old boy.  Our legislators recently raised that age to 16 but the bill is still sitting with our lib-left senate.
  • Child pornography has been ruled as "art" by our courts.
  • Our taxes supply drugs to drug addicts.
  • Our justice system isn't.
  • Our media is controlled by the state.  We're not allowed to view US programs or channels unless the state approves it.
  • Children can murder without any real consequence.
  • and the list goes on and on and on...

The Democrats and their far-left base want to make the US a mirror image of Canada.  Don't let them do that.  Your society is too precious to give up to socialism.  As you folks go to the polls today, please vote Republican.

Nature Nazi's Exposed

Mine Your Own Business

Mine Your Own Business exposes the dark side of environmentalism. The documentary hacks away at the cosy image of environmentalists' as well meaning, harmless activists.

Mine Your Own Business is the first documentary which asks the hard questions of foreigners who lead campaigns to "save" remote areas from development. Their answers are often disturbing, with racist overtones, but we, in the west, blindly support such campaigns that want to keep people in poverty. Now for the first time "Mine Your Own Business" asks local people about their lives and what they want for the future.

Their answers are very often different from what the foreign environmentalists say and what is reported in the mainstream international media.

Mine Your Own Business demolishes the cosy consensus that environmentalists are well meaning, agenda free, activists and shows them to be anti-development ideologues who think the poor are happy being poor and don't want the development that we, in the west, take for granted.

Mine Your Own Business goes beyond the voice of the foreign environmentalists that we so often hear in the media and meets those who will be most affected by these projects and the well-run campaigns against them.

Mine Your Own Business follows George, a 23-year-old unemployed miner from Rosia Montana in central Romania whose life has been put on hold because of an anti-mining campaign orchestrated by foreign environmentalists.

George explains his hopes and dreams for the future - which are different from those prescribed for him by foreign environmentalists. He then travels to other impoverished communities in Madagascar and Chile who are also desperately waiting for large mining projects. George finds people similar to himself with similar hopes and dreams of a decent job, a house and a decent education and better life for their children.

Mine Your Own Business will be hugely controversial as it makes us all think about the unintended consequences of blindly supporting environmentalist campaigns across the globe. It is a challenge to the green groupthink that allows westerners to deny progress to those who need it most.

Here's the trailer:

This looks like a great film and the folks who put it together are likely to take a lot of heat from the MoonBats and Enviro-Nazis. The least we can do is support them by spreading the word, ordering one of the DVD's or checking out their screenings. They're currently doing a campus tour in the US. Monday's Sobering Thought

Yesterday Debris Trail put a post up discussing the connection between drugs (Opium -> Heroine) and the Taleban killing our soldiers in Afghanistan.  It reminded me of something I picked up from the rally on Saturday.  It's a pamphlet one of the dopers handed to me.  It appears that the NDP has an official "unofficial" wing who want to legalize pot and "other banned plants and drugs".  Here's side one:

(click for larger image)

And side two:

(click for larger image)

Right, so Jack Layton is in favor of fueling the Taleban economy by making their product readily available here in Canada.  The Taleban economy funds the weapons, munitions and personnel who are trying to kill our troops in order to regain power over there.  The law of transitive properties tells us that Jack Layton wants to easily fund the killing of our troops and a return of Afghanistan to the hands of the Taleban.

I guess we weren't so far off when we started calling him "Taleban Jack"...

Think about it over a coffee this morning...

Update:  John T. Kennedy asks a very good question in the comments section:

You do know that it’s prohibition that makes the black-market drug trade so profitable, right?

Remove the prohibition and drugs would not be any more profitable than any other product coming out of Afghanistan.

And here's my response:

Supply and demand, risk and reward, yes I'm aware of the concept.  But the idea that removing prohibition will put an end to crime and stop the flow of cash to the terrorists is a pipe dream.

No matter what the product or how it's regulated, there will always be a black market supply.  It doesn't matter if it's hard drugs, smokes, booze, computer software, clothing or body parts.  If people can get it cheeper and easier off the black market, they will.

The anti-prohibitionsist will say that we'll just make our stuff more accessable than the drug dealers.  Right.  They're going to make it easier than chattin' with your buddy who just happens to know a guy?  That would mean that they'd have to flood the market.  Create storefront sales.  I'd have to be able to pick-up a couple of oz with my cigarettes from the gas station.

Well then, they'd say that "this is doable".  Ok, how?  To figure that out, we've got to look at the distribution system.  The regulated grower has his costs and adds his mark-up.  A regulated manufacturer purchases it from the grower, processes it, packages it and then sells it to a regulated distributer at cost plus their mark-up.  The distrubuter sells it to the regulated retail outlets at cost plus their mark-up.  The retail outlet adds their mark-up + taxes to the price and sells it to the consumer.  It's not so cheep anymore.

An enterprising illegal (unregulated) grow operator has less costs that the regulated grower, can process the materials himself and can distrubute the product himself.  He eliminates 3 of the middle men and the taxes and sells his stuff 50% cheeper than the regulated product.

Who's stuff is going to get purchased?  The unregulated black-market guy's product will be purchased first.

Next, the anti-prohibitionsist will say that we'll send our police forces after the illegal grow ops because we're loosing the tax revenue.  Usually it's here that I ask these folks how having the cops bust illegal drug ops in their free market scenario is any different than the cops we have busting  illegal drug ops right now?  After that, the conversation generally takes a turn in one of the following directions:

  1. The anti-prohibition person changes the subject
  2. The anti-prohibition person offers up that we should make all the drugs free to anyone who wants them.  Right, flood the planet with free drugs.
  3. The anti-prohibition person forgets that regulation and taxation was half of his argument to begin with and says;  "OK, then forget the regulation.  Make it a totally open market.  Let true supply and demand rule."  At this point, I remind them that the "supply and demand" thing was something they had a problem with in the first place.   Then they reply; "yeah but the prices would drop and there'd be less crime".  Notice how he also forgets that eliminating crime was the other half of his argument.
  4. The anti-prohibition person gets all pissy and says;  "It's just a little drugs dude, what's your problem?  I have a right to smoke whatever I want on my own time."

Don't even get me started on the whole "burden to society" thing...

Johnathon Madden

I have been holding my breath for some time now.  Holding my breath and hoping that there was some small measure of justice left in this apathetic, hand-wringing, apologetic society of ours and for the first time in a long time, I was not disappointed.   A little boy who suffered a most horrible and violent death at the hands of his own brother can now be properly remembered by those who loved him and a community who mourned him in anonymity for so long.

Johnathon

Johnathon Madden was 12 years old when he arrived home from school to find his older brother and a friend lying in wait.   They were ready to launch the sickening premeditated plan of savagely draining every last drop of blood from Johnathon's body before proceeding on to the rest of the family.  As a result, Johnathon suffered no less than 71 wounds from stabbing and hacking at his brother's hands before having his lifeless body shoved into the basement crawlspace for safekeeping while they waited for the others.

I have agonized over this story.  When it first broke, I was virtually inconsolable for days.   My eldest son was so close in age and the thought of a child suffering something so brutal coupled with the devastating fact that he had, according to one of his teachers, been living in dread -- almost as though anticipating his own violent end -- caused my heart to ache in a way it never had before.   With every tragic detail, I saw the faces of my own children and the weight of the horror was more than I could express.  What mother would not feel the same?

The injustice of this crime was magnified exponentially by the publication ban which prevented Johnathon's family from using his name at his funeral.   He had to be buried without recognition, without proper memorial, without acknowledgment of who he was -– all for the purpose of protecting the boy who so viciously robbed him of his life.   For the past 3 years, this little boy has been a nameless, faceless victim…the greatest injustice of all.

But no longer.

I was impressed with the courage shown by Johnathon's mother.  It is unthinkable that a mother should have to lose one child at the hands of another, and to have the strength to still call the murderer to account -– even though he is the last shred of family left, is a strength many would not be able to muster.   But thanks to her steadfast and emotional plea to the court, not only will the violent perpetrators of this crime be forced to account for their actions, but with the lifting of the publication ban, we are all permitted to know the boy who's life and tragic death affected so many of us.

The advocates of compassionate sentencing like to say that harsher punishments don't do anything to bring back the victims but I have to say...hearing that Kevin Madden was sentenced to life in prison, made me feel just a little bit better.  And I hope that now, Johnathon's family will be able to find some peace.

Recent Comments and Some Thoughts...

Posted in response to the 9-11 memorial I put up yesterday:

"They weren't lib-left whimps" You my friend are the most deplorable person I have ever encountered. To use someones loved ones, who perished that awful morning , to bolster your political beliefs, is beyond phucking rude. You are a dispicable piece of crap and anyone that follows or finds enjoyment in your posts, is either a moron or Hitler SS. Un-bloody believable, your kind have no shame. I, as I imagine many others, wish sir that you were within reach but of course that is how you pukes operate, in hiding and ALWAYS in a gang. DONE I.B.Lever | 09.11.06 - 3:29 pm | #

And:

In 2003, a total of 42,443 people were killed in car accidents according to the data collected by the Federal Highway Administration. That (very precise) figure only includes those reported or identified by the police. The total 9/11 death toll, including all crash sites, victims on the ground and in the planes, was 3030. I havn't checked if that includes the terrorists themselves. So, in terms of car accidents alone, America undergoes fourteen 911s each year. Every one of those deaths is preventable. This is ignoring all other sources of accidents, and non-preventable death such as illness. Wow, you sure make a lot of fuss over 1/14th of a year's worth of car accidents!

And this from Darcey's post at the WS letting folks know that we were having the recent 9-11 support rally (I don't normally publish this type of language on this site but it had to be seen to be believed):

Heres why we should rally amd support 9-11, this is what I say to my compadres

From your fucked up values and religious whacks like your president, to your arrogant “I love oil” nature and your love for attempting to fuck other countries up with your “superior” defence force. I hate the way you think that America is responsible for all good in this world. You’re not.

You did not invent human rights, you did not invent sliced bread, or the wheel, AND JESUS WAS NOT BORN IN TEXAS. NOR WAS HE WHITE.

AND HE DID NOT SLEEP WITH YOUR SISTER. Although I’m sure you did.

I hate you so much that I want to draw a tan^-1(1) with my fist to your face. (NO, YOU DID NOT INVENT TRIANGLES)

I hate how you complain about the price of oil, while you rape your planet with your fat ass, McDonald’s eating, gas guzzling fuck Hummers of hell.

I hate how you feel the need to liberate random countries from “oppression” and instill your proud and wonderful freedom and democracy.

I also hate your “Patriot Act” which effectively removes all forms of freedom and democracy from your country… and allows your government to go all fascist on you ass, while you sit in your homes and hate gays, blacks, Hispanics, Mexicans, the Spanish, Cubans, Latinos (that’s ignorance for you)

I hate how you destroy the English language using the letter z in random places, and leaving out u in others. Your education system is fucked up. NO ONE TEACHES CREATIONISM ANY MORE.

You piss me off by being the most religious country in the Western world, with your conservative values hindering the progress of mankind.

And fuck you and your nuclear warheads trying to fuck this planet up, while making sure to condemn any Arab that ever tries to enrich Uranium (ooh laa dee daa)

I hate your conservative, Jewish-owned media with your O’Reillys and Coulters spouting pro-Bush, Christian (figure that?) propaganda, and telling you that Bush taking away your freedom is the greatest liberty you will ever receive.

I hate the Westboro Baptist Church, allowed to exist because of your fundie values and gay hating economics.

I hate your consumerist whore views, buying things just because rich guys in suits tell you to.

And I hate your disgusting superiority complex, segregating all races except Americans (ye, that’s a race) and fucking over your neighbours to the south by not allowing them to speak Spanish, and thinking that you are far better than Canada. You’re not.

I hate your “obesity epidemic” while people in Africa starve. JUST DON’T FUCKING EAT.

And also, I hate the way you stereotype yourself so much that I can go off on rants such as these.

So FUCK YOU

And these gems from our recent post on the NDP:

You are clearly a sissy, dick and I can't picture you chasing anyone but a conservative in a skirt, with a cattle prod. Brave words from a fruity little neocon whose nose is probably buried up a local politicians ass so far, your eyes are brown. Don't kid us dick, you're admired by a handful of limp wristed lunatics so out of touch with reality, they plead for a fellow sissies attention. What a repulsive representative of corporate greed such as you and your feeble-minded flock needs,is to be slapped silly with a pair of your own silk panties. Stop drooling "dick", won't happen but justice will be handed out before it's all said and done. Paranoid pansies, is all.

And:

I'm proudly a socialist. my only arugment in all this is simple. You state socialism and communism as the same, NOT true. maybe you need to go to http://www.politicalcompass.org/....org/ uselection and touch up on your political left and right orientations Our oil is owned by US Corporations, NOT Canadians. So why would it hurt us to claim it back as OURS? I could go on and on, but yea, you just sound like a bush/harper lackie.. keep kissing..

Now I don't know about you folks but it seems to me that the lib-left is particularly testy of late;

  • Lib and NDP supporters are at each others throats, fractured,
  • Our favorite MoonBat is franticly trying to convince himself others that the NDP has some relevance by irrelivant poll results,
  • The anti-Americanism comming from both the Libs and NDP is at a fever pitch and,
  • The idea that a group of people would get together to show support for the US and remember 9-11 sends them off the deep end.

I have a theory:  We're ripping their hearts out...

  • Cindy Shehan and other darlings of the left get laughed at whenever their names get brought up.
  • Rove and Libby have been cleared in the Plame case. - No "Fitzmas" for the MoonBats
  • Progress is being made in Iraq and Afghanistan and the MSM is forced to report it.
  • Hezbollah and Hammas are losing support in the West.
  • The G-8 stood in solidarity with Israel.
  • Multiculturalism is being proven to be a failure all over Europe and North American immigration policies are being questioned.
  • Welfare reforms have proven successfull.
  • The abstainance "doesn't work" argument is being proven to be false.
  • The MSM is being taken to task on every point and we're not letting them get away with anything
  • The New Canadian Conservative government has lived up to their promises and are continually gaining support.
  • Our halls of higher education are continually being exposed as centers for socialist indoctrination. - More and more parents are sending their kids to private or charter schools.
  • and on, and on, and on...

I think it's starting to dawn on them that any progress they thought they were making toward the "North American Socialist Utopia" is being halted.  They're clueing-into the fact that normal folks like you and I aren't buying into their bunk anymore.  They're losing public support and they're starting to go into panic mode as a result.

This is a good thing.

Wait and see what happens when we start to reverse the supposed "progress" they've made thus far...

Heros

Five years ago this morning (Sept. 11) I had just finished dropping my daughter off for her first day of the school year. I was headed to work when the news broke... a plane crash... wow... into a building? what the hell?

We had a tv that we used for safety orientations on on the construction site. The project engineer had it tuned into either CTV or CBC. I can't remember which. I just know the picture was crap because of bad reception. We all watched.

That was when I woke up. When I started to pay attention to things beyond my little bubble. That's when I started to draw clear lines between right and wrong.

Today is a day of rememberance. Not a day to remember myself though. That crosses one of the clear lines mentioned above. It's a day to remember those who died for the simple act of riding on an airplane. For simply showing up to work...

Most of you know that I have a soft spot for emergency responders. Today's post isin't about them either though. It's about the hero's who flew, faught and died on United Airlines Flight 93.
From the list below, Todd Beamer was one of the heroes aboard United Flight 93 and is the one heard by the "911" operator to say "Let's Roll" before they bravely overtook the hijackers and saved countless lives by forcing the plane down in a field in Pennsylvania. In fact, the song you're listening to was written based on those words: "Lets Roll"

These people didn't fold up and accept their fate. They fought it and saved countless lives in the process. They weren't lib-left whimps.  They fought back. They rolled. Remember that as you read their names and look at their faces.

Dumptruck

...super-sized sinkhole......and just in time for the glitterati of the Toronto International Film Festival

It must suck to be upstaged by a dump truck.

HUBRIS

...in Caledonia

Janie Jamieson, spokesperson for the protesters, said they plan to finish the construction of 11 half-built homes if they get the donated building supplies. No one wants to see the houses "rotting away" when they could be used for shelter during the winter, she said.

"The option is to tear them down or to finish them," Jamieson said. "If we have that opportunity to finish them so our people won't have to sleep in snow banks, I'd really like to see that."

...Yes.  Please do make yourselves comfortable.

They're calling for donations of building supplies, clothes, food and - of course - money.  You can't get more balsy than that.

Personally, I hope its a long, cold winter...help them get back to their traditional roots as tribal survivors -- before whitey became their own personal wet nurse.

Those darned Jooos are at it again!

In what has become a classic maneuver for the evil Zionist cabal behind historic injustices such as the Crucifixion of Christ, the violent oppression of the Palestinians, and the rise in popularity of the bagel over Wonder Bread, the filthy Jooos controlling the universe have succeeded in once again, marginalizing an entire race -- Plutonians.

A pernicious group of imperialistic Astronomers (probably Jooos) unanimously decided to deny innocent Plutonians their right to status as a planet of the solar system because...

Pluto failed to dominate its orbit around the Sun in the same way as the other planets.

...so in typical punitive form, the Zionists voted to demote Plutonians for their lack of conformity to the forces of evil and henceforth, Pluto will be referred to as The Plutonian Authority.

Plutonians

The United Nations has issued a statement condemning the action and declaring that 'temporary' refugees camps, for displaced Plutonians, will be set up while they investigate the Astronomers for human rights violations.

The Plutonian leader -- a rapidly decomposing Yasser Arafat -- was reached at his summer home under Bill Clinton's desk, and was quoted as saying...

Those filthy Zionist pigs seek to exterminate us and seize our territory!  Even in death I cannot escape their meddling.  We will wage war on all fronts to force back the Zionist oppressors.  Could someone please pass the Altoids?

When asked to comment on whether America supported the stance of the Jooo Astronomers, President George W. Bush indicated he was unsure whether the solar system even had other planets, but that Pluto was a funny yellow dog in Mickey Mouse cartoons.  Otherwise, he referred all questions to his Zionist puppet masters.

Why Borys' resignation is bad for all of us

They had to know that it would turn out badly from the very start.

The trip was sponsored by a group with an obvious agenda, it consisted of a visit to only one front in the conflict, and only one side of the ideological spectrum participated...when you have Peggy Nash as a traveling buddy, you just know your life has taken a very wrong turn.

So the Liberals stuck their finger in the wind, took a gamble that the Canadian populace had signed up en masse for that lobotomy, and came out firmly on the wrong side of moral conscience -- again.

Try as they might to relegate poor Borys to the status of 'crazy aunt in the attic' it's fairly obvious that Borys said what many in the Liberal Party think and the reason they took so long to react is they were waiting for the rest of us to fall in line -- so in tune with the pulse of Canadian values, are they.

Except they couldn't have been more wrong, and once the stalwart confederates of Liberal sympathies (the media) started to publish unfavorable reviews of this stance and public opinion showed we were none too pleased with this blatant capitulation, only then did the mouthpieces issue statements chiding Borys' unfortunate choice of phrasing.

So they bullied him into silence once they realized that popular opinion wasn't coming along for the ride.

Tweedles Anyone who thinks this is a good thing should carefully consider what we would do if the Liberal party got good at hiding its true face.  If they manage to silence the Borys' of the party how will we, the poor shlubs of the voting public, ever see through the thick facade they have built to mask their distasteful ideological inclinations -- or lack thereof?

Having Borys spout off about what he really thinks, and watching his compatriots wait to gauge public reaction before picking a side has given us a rare glimpse at just how far down the rabbit hole the Liberal Party of Canada has gone.  Having the Liberals exposed for what they really are makes the choice on election day that much easier.  If the Liberal party manages to purge their ranks of all the loose-lipped morons, we may never know what they're really thinking.  Lucky for us, they are so far gone, that may never happen.

More on the "broad strata of society"

AHEM...

Dutch police arrested 12 passengers on a United States Northwest Airlines plane bound for India that was forced to turn back to Amsterdam's Schipol airport on Wednesday [..]

The Dutch Defence Ministry said earlier the pilot decided to turn back after the crew said several of the 149 passengers on flight 42 to Mumbai were behaving suspiciously.

Anyone want to challenge my automatic assumption that not a single one of these suspects is named Bob, Mark or Steve?

World Wide Whiners

I'm still not dead yet.  Just hyper-stretched between work and moving - again  (argh!).

But not so busy that I haven't been paying attention to a few nasty goings on and quirky oddities…

<snark>

As I write this, a social leech is being evicted from his makeshift home beneath a downtown highway amidst the bleating and whining of the hypocritical homeless advocates at OCAP…while the rest of us go to work and pay our taxes and follow the rules…b-bye now!

Speaking of hypocritical whiners and bleaters, the Liberal Party is finally discovering what the rest of us knew all along - that they are nothing more than a hungry pack of hyenas with a nasty case of collective Tourette's, racing at break-neck speed towards political oblivion…b-bye now!

And a bleater and whiner with an added quotient of acidic bitchiness has been given carte blanche to display an enthusiastic spate of vomiting on the pages of The Australian.  Mark Steyn should be proud - if he's managed to rile glib trolls like this, he is definitely doing all the right stuff!

</snark>

Nastiest of all, is the recent news that my favorite news site and very first hit every single day, is closing up shop and exiting cyber-space.  Nealenews has been the absolute best news source I have encountered and will be sorely missed.  Good luck Brian.  God knows we all understand the push and pull between blog life and real life...This whine is from me to you ;)

Whiner

And such is the Trudeau legacy...

An essay in The Toronto Star yesterday left me asking one question...

How are the doctors supposed to get a catheter in with Alexandre Trudeau slobbering all over Fidel's ass like that?

A heartfelt, tear-jerking Happy Birthday to a murderous, hubristic, freedom-crushing, megalomaniacal fascist dictator...and I find myself inexplicably wishing for an avalanche.

Stephen Harper as Panacea

Is Stephen Harper the center of the universe?  No really, he is right?

You'll forgive me for assuming so, but I have been bombarded these last few weeks with coverage of the International AIDS conference and I have gotten the distinct impression that Stephen Harper is the missing link in the cure for AIDS.

The Toronto Star labeled the attendees of the conference the AIDSerati, giving one the impression of some kind of cult of celebrity.  They also went to great lengths to point out and emphasize that the wealth of celebrities and medical experts at hand are all rendered effectively worthless in the absence of a photo op by Canada's top bureaucrat.

The heartless bastard.  Doesn't he care about AIDS?  He might as well wrap his hands around the necks of small African babies and strangle the life from them himself.  Forget the kittens...Steve-O has moved onto a bigger demographic for his box lunches.

But wait!  It gets worse.  Seems Steve-O is not the only heartless bastard who doesn't care about AIDS sufferers...

Take Jean Chretien, our former fearless leader.  As a fine, compassionate long-standing high-profile Liberal, it would seem only natural for him to attend...after all, his good pal, Bill the phallus Clinton is there.  But maybe he's too busy stroking Fidel's forehead, at his bedside.

What about Kofi Annan?  As the head of the United Nations, it doesn't get any more internationally high-profile than that, AND he's African...doesn't he care about AIDS?  Well, doesn't he??!??

And seeing as over 70% of the world's AIDS deaths occur in Africa, doesn't anyone find it a little incongruous that there aren't more African leaders attending the conference?  Don't THEY care about AIDS?  And in their own countries no less...

But don't worry folks, the real story -- and the only thing the media and the conference speakers seem to care about -- is Stephen Harper's unrelenting, acid-spitting homophobia.

Doesn't he know that he is pivotal to finding the cure for AIDS?  Doesn't he realize how many tiny African children will die today, all because he doesn't show up to rub *ahem* palms with Bill the Phallus???!?

Oh, Steve-O...if only you could harness your powers for good.

Filed under "Who gives a rats ass?"

Madonna I have always been a long-time fan of Madonna.  She is charismatic, talented, a brilliant manager of her own career as well as the careers of many others, and in a world where music acts come and go like the wind, she has until recently, mastered the ability to sustain worldwide dominance of pop culture.

So it is with a mild pang of regret that I say - ever since she sported a beret and started spouting the hypocrisy of the anti-war crowd, while also denouncing the country which launched her career (America), I have had little to no use for the spoiled twit.

Of course, naming her kid Rocco didn't help.

In response to her recent toe-dip into controversy Cardinal Ersilio Tonino, speaking on behalf of Rome had this to say...

"This (concert) is a blasphemous challenge to the faith and a profanation of the cross. She should be excommunicated."

...except she has been a devout practitioner of Kabbalah (a form of Jewish mysticism) for at least a few years now.  How can you excommunicate someone who no longer belongs to the church?

Bishop Velasio De Paolis added...

"How this woman can take the name of the mother of Christ I don't know."

...easy, Padre - she was born with it.

And the most relevant question of all is why did the Catholic Church even bother to acknowledge this pathetic stunt, thus giving her the publicity she so earnestly seeks?

Why did I?

The problem with Islam

nan·o·sec·ond:  The exact measurement of time it would take for every media outlet in the country to issue a front page report on a prominent Muslim spokesman getting death threats from gap-toothed, white-bread rednecks.

Take Tarek Fatah, who has recently resigned as communications director of the Muslim Canadian Congress.

His statement cites stress and safety concerns as his reason for leaving -- Apparently Mr. Fatah has been getting death threats, but they haven't been from the intolerant bigots of the right wing, or the ignorant rubes of the redneck west, or even from Right Girl ;)

Oh no...the threats have been coming from the infinitely tolerant members of the Toronto chapter of the "Religion of Peace" -- and that is the reason you haven't been hearing much about it.

Members of his very own Muslim community have issued threats towards him and his family, he has found his name included on a list of progressive Muslims who need to be "silenced" and he is roundly criticized as being a traitor to the Islamic community for promoting integration and tolerance.

I happened to hear Mr. Fatah being interviewed on the radio today, and in explaining what he believes to be the core conflict within the Muslim community, he accidentally hit on what I would consider to be the primary "root cause" of the modern world's current impasse with the worldwide intifada.

He explained that there was a battle being waged within the Muslim community, between fundamentalist extremists and progressives, for the heart of Islam.  As an analogy, he likened it to Europe's bloody reformation of Christianity in the 13th and 14th ***16th century -- and that is the part of his statement which caught my attention.

In a globally sophisticated society, with the experience of hundreds of years of parliamentary and democratic foundation, and the trials of Christianity as its foremost comparable example, the nation of Islam still remains 7 ***4 centuries behind the civilized world in the exercise of working out its growing pains.  ***Thank you to an astute reader, for correcting my historical error.  Mr. Fatah's own comments in his interview were that the reformation occurred during the 13th and 14th century, thus highlighting the importance of checking facts before posting.

So the question remains...

Is there anyone who still believes that Islam will ever be able to peacefully integrate into society as we know it?  Or will society be transformed to accommodate the new barbarism of the old world?

Doritos1

Many a tear I shed.  My hopeless lamenting alienated all but the most dedicated of household pets.  Without an outlet for my infatuated obsessiveness, I became an insufferable bore and contracted an unhealthy interest in inflatable clowns and peanut M & M's.

And then came word...

A friend who sympathized with my plight sent news that I could take a pin to Bozo and resume my grossly inappropriate and slightly creepy infatuation with my favorite blogger.

!!!!!!!!!!

As Stimpy would say...JOY!

Not only has the inimitable Trodwell come out of the gate in full swing and sensational as ever -- thus reinforcing my deep-seated affection for Rightthinkers -- but by making references to things like Starship Troopers (the awesome novel, not the egregious movie) he has also managed to win the affection of the luscious new Beau.  So my heartfelt embrasure of my long-suffering obsession can recommence, unencumbered!

*sniff*

The blogosphere has suddenly become a wonderful place again.

Kick over a rock...

From a gal who's seen it in the skimpiest of skivvies, I can knowledgeably say...yes Baby...its big and bold and in your face!

As a conservative blogger who has stirred up my fair share of controversy, I can only commend Wendy for doing what all good bloggers do -- root out contradictions where you see them, call them into question and engage others in a meaningful debate which challenges our pre-conceived notions.

Whether you agree with her or not, no one can deny that she has inspired people to talk about things which were heretofore unmentionable.

Calls of racism, bigotry and denouncement from other conservatives were knee-jerk reactions fit for any Liberal.  When Conservatives disagree, we are supposed to show the flaws in the argument and debate with reason with logic -- whining and name calling is for Lefties.  Stifling debate on such a crucial topic -- no matter how inflammatory the remarks -- is counter-productive, and in these very dangerous times, potentially destructive.

Is Right Girl a shit-kicker?  Are her remarks designed to be inflammatory, sometimes insulting and controversial?  The answer is:  Absolutely!  And she wouldn't have it any other way.  Neither would I.

At the very least, shes got everyone talking.

DEFEND OR DIE

...I was wearing the words and carrying the sentiment in my heart.

The Stand With Israel rally in Toronto last night was an impressive show of solidarity (reports of over 5000 in attendance).  Despite the faint hopes of the leftists in this country -- and no doubt the media -- the turnout was spectacular and contrary to similar gatherings of the anti-Israel crowd, this one was filled with positive messages and an overwhelming sense of goodwill.

I never did find Wendy, but the luscious new beau and I had great time taking our place in the crowd against capitulation and concession to murderers.

What struck me was not the overwhelming presence of the Israeli flag, but that it was nearly out-numbered by those who chose to wave the Canadian flag as well...

Pics_277_3
Pics_275_1

We enjoyed the speeches, and for a rare moment, stood proudly for our National Anthem.  The entire crowd gave waves of hearty applause for the actions of Prime Minister Stephen Harper (the luscious beau has taken to calling him Steve-O) and the Conservative government which is not afraid to stand for what is right, in the face of international capitulation.  (read UN self-sodomy)

Pics_287_1

The night was not without its humorous moments...There was one lone protestor with a sign that read "No US and Canadian support of Israel"...Oh my, that's catchy!  Unfortunately, the police escorted him away before I could get a picture of his pathetic display.  If thats the best the anti crowd can do, we're in good shape ;)

The luscious beau and I had a good laugh at this dude...

...the personification of ox·y·mo·ron

A good night.  A good cause.  And a big fat thumb in the eye of anyone who says Canadians don't support Israel's right to defend itself.  Clearly, even in the leftist bastion of Toronto, there is enough of us to cause a stir.

Alright, here's the deal! If it's not made with barley, grain and potato, it's not VODKA. Plain and simple. Methinks Diaego can kiss my pimply white ass because I'm not putting anything other than Smirnoff in my Caesers.

France should stick to carbonated wine, stinky cheese, labor unrest and Islamic domination.

Choosing Sides

Israel
STAND WITH ISRAEL

This Wednesday, July 26 in Toronto.  The luscious new beau and I will be causing a ruckus with the inimitable Right Girl on the streets of Toronto, and showing our support for a functioning and productive sovereign democracy to protect itself from the savage animals of terrorism.

If you're in the area, I encourage you to join in the rally...Show those MSM boobs that Canadians aren't the capitulating, terrorist-sympathetic surrender monkeys they keep portraying us as.

See you there.

Targets - Positioning Assets

By now we're all aware of the massive repatriation of foreign nationals or "ex-pats" from Lebanon.  Thousands upon thousands of individuals are being returned to Australia, the UK, the US and Canada in the name of humanitarian relief.

All because we're kind to people who are too stupid to avoid warzones.  I think our kindness may bite us in the ass big-time though.

Do you think the people we're "rescuing" are going through a proper vetting process?  Full background checks before they get on the boats and planes?  Do you really think we have the infrastructure in place to properly process thousands upon thousands of people in such a short time?  Not friggin likely.   Do you think these individuals are being detained, once they land on North American soil, so a proper vetting can be performed?  Not so much.  The vast majority of these people are free to roam as soon as they get off of the planes.

Right now, if a terrorist wanted to travel to North America, all he would need is a passport with a name that doesn't cause a red flag to pop up in some database somewhere.  Up here in Canada, even if that individual was identified as being a member of a terrorist organization, they'd still be brought back to Canadian soil.  Christ, we won't even put these individuals on a no-fly list. Is it possible that we're bringing terrorists back?  Absolutely!

Terrorist cells operating in North America are getting busted or have been neutered due to law enforcement investigations.  Terrorist operations are being frozen and the only way their objectives are going to be met is if they put new personnel in place.  Picture a shift change at your local power plant.  All the equipment and infrastructure stays operational.  The only thing that changes is the personnel.  The power plant keeps running.  In the case of a terrorist shift change, personnel under investigation are replaced by personnel who aren't and the "terror plant" keeps running.  The terrorists haven't been able to do that easily until now.

If you were a terrorist leader looking to make a personnel change, would you not capitalize on the current evacuation?  Would you not use the ability to position untold numbers of people on North American soil to your advantage?  Our humanitarian efforts are the perfect opportunity for the terrorists to make a required "shift change" and I think it's a given, at this point, that we're importing a whole wack of new terrorists.  The question now is "how many?".

*******************

Understanding the above, can one speculate that the "humanitarian crisis" in Lebanon was created with the "shift-change" in mind?  A good chess player always plays 5 or 6 moves ahead of the piece he's got his fingers on.  Is it possible that Hezbollah picked a fight with Israel in order to start a war and spur the evacuations?

Any thoughts you folks have would be appreciated.

Something To Chew On...

Here's a question:  Why does the MSM never give us a body count on dead terrorists in Lebanon?  Anytime we hear about the dead, it's always innocent civilians or Israeli soldiers.  Are there no terrorists being killed? Well, actually there ARE terrorists being killed:

BBC Admits Many Lebanese Casualties are Terrorists 15:22 Jul 23, '06 / 27 Tammuz 5766           (IsraelNN.com) The British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) has admitted that many of the victims of Israeli retaliation in Lebanon are terrorists and not innocent civilians. A BBC reporter said he saw Hizbullah terrorists using a private home and added, "It is difficult to quantify who is a terrorist and who is a civilian."

Media reports have emphasized that Israeli air strikes have killed more than 350 Lebanese civilians, prompting accusations that the IDF is carrying out "collective punishment" on the country.

So... More often than not, they don't know who's a civilian and who's a terrorist and to err on the side of their political leanings, they call them all civilians.  Actually, they call them civilians even if they DO know they're terrorists. Think about that as you watch the Lebanese "civilian" death toll rise...

What cost, citizenship?

In the course of the evacuation of Canadian citizens from Lebanon, a raging debate has started over how much consideration is owed to dual citizenship holders who are permanent residents of Lebanon.  Wherein one side insists that Canadian citizenship entitles the holder to the universal rights and privileges held therein, the other side insists that a person who holds dual citizenship, but does not make Canada their home, should take second priority to Canadian residents.

The one point missing from this argument is that of responsibility.  Not the responsibility of the government to service the citizen, but the responsibility of the citizen to the institution of
